After upgrading Windows 7 or Windows 8.1 to Windows 10, Outlook fails to send email, and you receive this error:
User account – Sending’ reported error (0x800CCC13): ‘Cannot connect to the network. Verify your network connection or modem.
Workaround
Use the Windows System File Checker to repair corrupted files
- Close Outlook.
- Right click the Start button in Windows and choose: Command Prompt (Admin). If you don’t see that option, instead choose: Windows PowerShell (Admin).
- In the Command Prompt window type: sfc /scannow (note the space in the command).
- Wait until the process completes. This usually doesn’t take longer than 20 minutes with a regular hard disk and takes much shorter when you have a fast SSD drive.
- Restart your computer and then open Outlook.
